New Toys for the Little Boy

Last week, I realized that it is time for Jens to have some new toys. I looked up the net to check what are the latest so we have the idea what to buy when we're at the shops. Not that there aren't any choices there, there are heaps actually.
And because of heaps selections, we ended up buying these.
the little motor bike
Daddy was too excited that he immediately assembled (still in the car) the bike when we got home and pushed Jens around the yard. Can't wait to unload our other shopping stuff. Jens legs are short for the bike so he can't push it himself.

the basic blocks

the rolling musical ball
We ended up not buying the toys that we planned on buying. But this rolling musical ball was closed to what we want.
And guess what's Jens favorite is? The container of the blocks. Typical kid. Well, at least he doesn't want to boxes and packaging, isn't it? Maybe, if I let him play with them, he will. lol.

Weekend Snapshots 2

Jens' turn the steering wheel right after MCJ put him on the car. He might have noticed what his Dad does while driving. :)

Well, the steering didn't last long as it was replaced by his mouth. Lol. He just loves to lick everything.
We had a fun and expensive weekend. How about you? :)

The Careful Baby

Since Jens' know how to stand on his cot or anywhere with something he can hang on to, he often ends up toppling down. I might not like it to happen but he just wants to stand up right away when you put him down and it is inevitable not to leave him for a minute.

He had injured the right corner of his brows when he stands on the sliding door like a gecko and with nothing to hold onto, he just slipped to the floor. A cup of tears may have been wasted.

But I think, he had learnt because this morning when he was trying to reach for his toy while standing on his cot, he didn't let go of the rails rather carefully look for his way down until he was able to sit. He might have grasped the meaning of gravity. :) This is a big achievement for him as it means, no more tears eventually.

Photohunt - Narrow

Photobucket
A very narrow sleeping bed for the Big Guy, his capsule. He has grown out of it and is now using a proper car seat.

Happy weekend everyone!

Hand Dexterity

For weeks, the BIG GUY had been so amazed with his hands that he always stared at them before sucking his fingers. Then two days ago, I noticed that he was trying to open and close the right one. And so, I held it up and said "close, open".. and he did the same thing over and over again. Yayyyy, he had learnt what I taught him last week on how to close and open his palm. Clever guy!

Sometimes, out of the blue without me holding his hand up.. he would close and open his palm - when he noticed his right hand. It sort of like a habit. I'm teaching him now how to wave and he sort of like can do it but not too well. Maybe in the next few days, he will perfect the motion. I'm excited!

Family Game

Jens have been the family joy when he was born, more so when he was able to smile, to interact properly, to roll-over, to crawl, to grab and eat or lick things, to eat solids, and so on. (You know I can blabber on and on about our Little Boy. LOLz)

Anyway, as parents, we are always proud whatever milestones and achievements he has. We can't stop bragging about it to family and relies, sometimes up to the extent that it seems it was us who do those things - though we're not owning those achievements. They gave us wings that let us fly and feel light and dizzy.

Okay, enough of being melodramatic.. what I really want to say here is just about Jens' recent antic. He can play peek a book. It started the day before last when he was on our bed and got inside the sheets. His reaction from being blinded was kicking furiously but at the same time, he found joy in doing so. He thought it was a game. Then I started introducing him to peek-a-boo game.
Jens covering his face.

And when I say, where's the bubbub.. he'll take the cloth out of his face.

Little Stuff for Bub

We got a cash voucher when we bought the baby car seat before New Year so before it expired, we spent it. I have come to be a little wiser when it comes to shopping (but still an impulsive one).

It wasn't that much so we just planned on getting a duckie for Jens to play in his bath. Yet, when we get there, they don't have any so we decided to pick up some learning materials. We can't find books apt for his age or so, so we decided to get these flash cards (as if they're suitable for him, not!).

I thought they will be fun to use to teach him but apparently, he's not as interested as in the books when we were reading. Maybe because he can't hold it.

Then we went to another shop to look for a duck. We found one in our pre-christmas shopping so we thought it would still be there. Yes, indeed and it was a duckie family in one pack. Before we found the ducks, MCJ and Jens saw a unicorn. I don't want to buy it because it is fluffy and not good for him, but he had been sucking the tag and it would be a little naughty if you put it back, so we got it too.

All these toys were not really enjoyed the way they should be rather they were all eaten alive. Lol. Jens can perfectly fit the head of the baby duck in his mouth. He eats them even during his bath.
